Dave Kelly found a niche in the market by listening to the needs of the average self-employed worker. The overwhelming majority of these people felt their accountants were not providing them with value for money. The discouraging high fees were compounded by the complete lack of a friendly customer service.

Many felt their accountant talked down to them. They didn't understand concepts and tax, but the accountant wouldn't explain it clearly to them. They felt like they were parts on a conveyor belt in a huge factory, completely lacking the personal touch.

There was a clear need for a more personal, down to earth approach.

David Kelly formed K&P in 1995 while he was working in full time employment.

Through word of mouth and Advertising in the Golden Pages the clientele grew and within 6 years David decided to take the business full time. KPBS was formed in Feb 2001. The demand was so great that within 2 months KPBS hired their first employee.

We have never looked back since and now have a branch in both Leixlip and Tallaght with 3 employees.

David's approach is to deal with clients on a personal level. Many new Clients complain their accountant talks down to them and they feel because their business is small they are not getting a good service. KPBS offers a special one-to-one service, free telephone/Email Helpline, fast turnaround of work and mediation between clients and the Tax Office.

It is because of our commitment to quality client care we have grown fast and as we grow we insure costs and service have never suffered.
